Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an review of claims about questionable actions involving women.
The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
