'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Families of Missing Young People Await Information After Ski Resort Inferno

The families of teens unaccounted for after a devastating fire at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and appealing for information about their children online.

The fire ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of New Year's Day. Circulated video depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the fire, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and injured another over a hundred. Officials stated on Friday that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts still underway to locate the other six.

In the interim, relatives have been posting on social media to request clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

She continued that some of his peers had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured hell."

The Italian government has confirmed that six of its young people have not been located.

Her brother has published an appeal online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the situation.
