Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
