While audience feedback for Peacemaker season 2 has been largely positive, with viewers and reviewers praising the performances and plot—even if the big twist in episode 7 wasn't exactly a surprise—one critique has intensified throughout the season: decreasing runtime lengths.

Over the past few episodes, viewers have voiced frustration over the noticeably shorter runtimes in season 2, and it's true, the installments have been getting shorter and shorter. The seventh episode, titled “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (excluding the recap, opening credits, and end credits), marking the briefest installment yet.

You'll be happy to learn next week's episode is over 57 minutes long.

Series creator and DC Universe head Gunn stated on Threads, replying to a viewer's concern.

Although this is encouraging, it's unknown what portion of the runtime will be actual new footage, uncluttered by intro and outro segments, or recaps of previous events. That said, should the episode contains all the previously mentioned non-essential content, that would still allow for roughly three-quarters of an hour for the concluding episode, which is a big upgrade after episode 7.

Gunn previously hinted that the finale would not only conclude Peacemaker but also give a hint towards the direction the broader DC Universe at large will be moving and serve as a prequel of sorts for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film. Given the brief appearance of the actor's portrayal of Lex Luthor from episode 6, fans expect a exciting guest appearance to cap off the show.

Peacemaker's finale, the eighth episode, is titled "The Full Nelson," and we'll just have to wait to see if fans' suspicions are confirmed.
