The Former President's Approach Present a Risk to Civilization.

The national and international policies – ranging from the attempted coup in the past to latest actions and threats – erode not only national and global legal frameworks. However, the issue goes deeper.

These actions threaten the fundamental meaning of what we mean by.

The ethical foundation of any advanced culture is to stop the more powerful from preying upon and using the less powerful. Without this, we could find ourselves locked in a state of nature where only the fittest wins.

This concept is central of the Declaration and Constitution. This is also the heart of the modern framework of international relations championed by the America, emphasizing multilateralism, democracy, human rights, and the supremacy of law.

But, it is a delicate principle, easily violated by those who would exploit their authority. Upholding it necessitates that the powerful have the moral fortitude to refrain from seeking temporary advantages, and that society demand responsibility when they fail.

Absolute power does not make right. It makes for turmoil, disruption, and hostilities.

Every time individuals, companies, or nations that are richer and more powerful target and use those that are weaker, the fabric of our shared norms unravels. If such aggression are left unchecked, the system fails. Without intervention, the world can fall into chaos and war. We have seen this pattern previously.

We now inhabit a society and world with deepening divides. Influence and wealth are increasingly centralized than ever before. This creates conditions for the elite to exploit the less fortunate because they act with a sense of omnipotent.

The wealth of a handful of billionaires is almost beyond comprehension. The reach of big tech, big oil, and large defense contractors spans much of the globe. Artificial intelligence is could consolidate wealth and power further. The destructive power of the major powers is unprecedented in human history.

Supported by political allies and an accommodating supreme court, the executive office has been made into the most powerful and unaccountable entity of the state in the modern era.

Combine these factors and you perceive the threat.

An unbroken thread connects previous transgressions to ongoing provocations. Each were premised on the arrogance of omnipotence.

There is much the same in international affairs: in military conflicts, in strategic threats, and in the global depredation by massive conglomerates.

Yet, unfettered might does not make right. It makes for instability, upheaval, and war.

History shows that rules and conventions to constrain the influential also shield them. Absent these limits, their endless appetite for increased control and resources in time bring them down – along with their enterprises, countries, or domains. And threaten global conflict.

Such contempt for legal order will haunt America and the global community – and the very idea of civilized conduct – for a long time.
