Trevoh Chalobah Poised to Step in for Guehi in England Squad
Trevoh Chalobah followed his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first pair of siblings to play for the national team.
The Chelsea defender is expected to be added to the Three Lions selection to replace unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to link up with the squad for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, but it has yet to be made public.
The national side have already booked their place for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah earned his maiden call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the selection for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally omitted him for the subsequent October international break.
Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's development, having given him his Chelsea first appearance in the year 2021.
Chalobah has played in nearly all fixtures for Chelsea this season, with the side occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over the Dutch side recently.
There are set to be other additions to the team. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the England setup.
